also, i think your opinion is basically wrong--i'm pretty sure that the reasons my korean mom married my white dad wasn't out of some overarching desire to abandon her culture. in terms of learning about korean culture, having our extended family involved in our lives, and the values they've tried to teach us, my brothers and i are really no more or less americanized than our completely korean cousins here. and for that matter, none of us are all that materialistic either.

i've found that sometimes a lot of the older generation tends to be entrenched in their beliefs, and more prejudiced and narrow-minded about things. i've found this to be true of my grandparents of both ethnicities, for example. i find it pretty ironic, though, that you condemn most asian males for being prejudiced and narrow-minded, yet you seem to judge them all based on your experience with one chinese malaysian. and by the way, culturally and socially, an asian-raised asian is about as similar to an asian born and raised in a western country, as some lifelong brit is to my dad, who's ancestors came here before the civial war. asians, more so than a lot of other ethnic groups, manage to carry their culture with them even while assimilating into another country, but to ignore the huge difference that being born in another country makes is, well, really stupid of you.

i'm a white very australian type of guy. i remember when i was in high school me and my friends would have these kind of talks were we would diss asian chicks etc etc and wonder what it would be like getting with an asian chick or even having an asian gf.

i left high school and started working as a manager at a city center fast food store. i did mainly graveyard shifts and had lots of overseas crew working for me (about 75% of them were asian). from these experiences i found that asian women are polite, they respect others and try their best at pretty much everything.

i don't know about that... i'm an asian girl and my boyfriend is black and he is a big fan of asian girls. when i asked him why he prefers asian girls, he said he doesn't like white girls because they're 'crazy' and self-absorbed; black girls he doesn't like either because he doesn't like their attitude... he grew up around asians and he says that he likes how we're very family-oriented. he saw how asian parents, especially the mothers respected and loved their husbands and kids, and took good care of the family. he has recently realized though that instead of asian girls who grew up here in the states, he actually prefers asian girls who grew up in their native country (like me) because we do not try to act like other races and we have the values we learned back home intact (put the knives down girls, this was according to him). plus the fact that we embrace the whole 'asian look' that he loves so much instead of trying to look white... anywaaaaaaaay, there are a lot of cultural differences that we have had to adjust to when it comes to our relationship but he says he's a better man for it.

i'm a white male, and although i don't know any asian females, i've become somewhat interested in the subject of what's commonly abbreviated as wm/af ir. looking at the issue subjectively, i tend to see a story line of the evil white male-asian female, vs. the heroic asian male. this could easily be seen as unfair, however from what i've seen so far on internet blogs and forums, my fellow white men act disgracefully. they're chock full of sexist/racist remarks that would make the mitchell brothers blush. some asian women (i say some to eliminate the majority of asian women who prefer asian men, and the one's who although are with a white man, didn't target them and have nothing against asian men) bash their own male gender counter-part like nothing i've ever seen before. and their excuses are 'always' lame.

basically, many of these asian women and white men pull the same stunt. this topic 'never' comes up without the bashing of white women by white men. what my fellow white brothers seem to do is play the 'one-sided white standard of beauty' theme. all negative traits affiliated with the white race are dumped on white women. if a white woman has extra pounds, she's 'fat'. however, the white man with extra pounds is 'big', 'big-boned', 'husky', etc. the white woman supposedly ages quickly, but the white man becomes 'distinguished'. the white woman is aggressive-pushy, but the white man is aggressive-herioc. so the problem becomes an issue of white men having to disassociate themselves with the perceived negative traits of white women, and present the illusion that somehow a big (or even over-weight) white man is more compatible with a smaller petite asian woman. to do this, many white men actually stoop low enough to imply that somehow nature made a mistake, and made asian men too small for their own women.

on the asian female end. ironically, some of them seem to do the same thing. some asian women have used the lame excuse that because they are tall, big, big-breasted, etc. that they need a bigger man, so that's why they prefer white men. this is obviously a bunch of crap. no matter how big or tall an asian woman is, there's a good number of asian males that are perfectly compatible size wise. what some white males who have taken on the persona of a rattle snake sometimes do on forums and web-video, is use pictures of smaller asian males, and pictures of statuesque asian female models to create the illusion that asian males are too small for their own kind. and in similarity with the white man who disses the white woman, many asian women use the lame excuses that asian men are sexist, chauvinistic, controlling, over-traditional (i've seen one say asian males are too obedient to parents), etc. this has actually already been alluded to; but how in the world did asian females miraculously escape the horrendous traits of the asian male? again, they disassociate the negative traits asscociated with asians from themselves by dumping them all on asian males (an asian male who holds to traditional values is controlling, whereas the asian woman has a unique exotic purity).

asian girls are rarely fat like lots of white woman. they still keep good figure after child birth, unlike those "sexy" latinos. asian woman have softer/smoother skin, age slower because they are more sun caucious rather than white women who enjoys tanning. their smaller breasts are perkier compare to white woman with larger breasts that will sag faster. asian/white mixed baby is the cutest. lower percentage of smoker/alcoholic in asian woman, and usually better cooks.

my opinion of the various nationalities women. asian women=hot=*drool*, plain and simple. aussie women, pretty hot. british women hot, but relatively snooty. black women in general vaguely hot. black mix girls, can be very hot. hispanic women and latinos=mostly hot. philipino girls (spelling?) are an oddity. they are like spanish/asian/islander mix and are generally pretty dam hot. russian babes tend to for some reason hit the ugly side more often than the hot side, but the few hot ones are...*drool*.

i have been with my asian wife for many years now and there is no indication this relationship is or will be faltering. we are a team and she completes me. a few observations from what i've seen in our circle of friends and acquaintances:

1. white asian relationships are relatively stable and in fact appear more stable than the asian/asian and white/white relationships. i suspect because maybe we try harder. not sure.
2. every asian/black relationship has ended either through abuse, neglect, or infidelity. virtually all of these has been bm/af and for some reason the kids for the most part are ghettoized and not academically inclined. they tend to marginalize themselves. don't ask me why but it appears the kids identify as black and embrace the culture. the asian women in these relationships are more hardened and confrontational. heavy makeup, more revealing dressing, and smoke more. maybe due to low self esteem. the lone am/bf relationship is stable though. she is educated and for what it is worth, acts white in the classic sense. not a popular comment, i'm sure. am/wf relationships appear very stable and nurturing. they seem happy, focused, and loving.
3. full "asian" offspring do very well academically, a little better than the mixed asian/white on the whole. but from my observations this hasn't necessarily translated into adult careers.
4. a interesting observations on automobiles. asian couples tend to drive nicer cars, usually along the lines of lexus and such while a asian/white will drive a accord. comparing mini-van to mini-van, asian couples will drive a toyota while the asian/white couple will drive a chrysler. if i see a asian woman driving a dodge mini-van chances are she is with a white guy. if i see a asian woman driving a toyota mini-van, chances are she is with a asian guy.
5. homes. pretty much equal among our circle of friends as well as furnishings though asian families seem to be more hooked up so to speak.
6. youth sports. asian kids seem to be more involved in sports than their mixed peers.
7. asian men play more golf than white men in these relationships.
8. asian men smoke and drink more.
9. white males tend to dress down while asian men tend to dress up. but asian men don't wear their suits as well.
10. asian men tend to expect their wives to wait on them in social settings. something i don't want my wife to do. if anything, it should be the other way around. not that i'm special by any stretch of the imagination but rather i did not marry my wife to be my servant. now, let me caveat this by saying at home this same asian wife married to the asian guy may very well be wearing the pants in the family and the in the social setting it may be for show of some type.
11. laotian women and men love to party and infidelity seems rampant and accepted. the women love to flirt. their offspring will mate with anyone though many of the same dynamics apply ..i.e. the bm/af relationship. they are all rocky and unstable. my

but yes, white asian dude - i concur that asian lasses do age a lot better. they can hide their age 10-15 yaers. a white woman over 30 looks well, middle-aged 40+ to 50+ looking esp the smoking and sun-tanning ones.

an asian one at 40+ can still get away looking early 30's. coz' they've been taught from chidhood that smoking is decadent and tanning is bad - you'll loose your fair skin - remember fair = better status? also genetics have a big part.

i want to tell a little story... i am asian i had a asian girl friend we been togather 4 year but she left me becaus of a white man even he was married with kids. its hurt but she had to do that becaus she supporting her family. she went to usa with white man and she get strong in all ways and first what she did to left the white man and get asian boy friend. becaus she told... if some one can give her real family then only an asian man can do it.

and one more thing... i had two white girl friends they also like asian men becaus asian are romantic and loyel and friendly. so point is if asian ladies like white men then white ladies also like asian men.

hi, this is a very intriguing post. anyway, i am full chinese (from hk), and i have dated all caucasians. i don't think race has anything to do with relationships, but how the couple treats each other. caucasians seem to be a bit more outgoing than asian guys, most of the asian guys are really shy and not very willing to talk to any girls. as for the stereotyping goes: im a 4.0 student, but i wouldn't consider all asian girls submissive, or any other stereotypes may be out there. it's usually personality, and media portrays a lot of them too.

lemme give it to you guys from my perspective

im a hispanic guy in my early 20's (both parents from mexico) and have been dating my girlfriend (dad's vietnamese and mom's cambodian) for 3 years. we have a baby girl (very beautiful) and i do get a lot of sh*t from her parents because they wanted her to either be with a white guy or an asian guy. we live in southern cali, so its pretty mixed up over here. i guess an asian chick's preference for men does come from where they were raised and who they interacted w/ growing up. there is a alot of resentment from asian guys about asian chicks dating outside their race. i even suspect some of these posts that condemn asian chicks for being w/ other races and are supposedly written by white guys are actually written by asian guys. anyways, i just wanted to say that it's all got to do w/ connection and if 2 people really like each other. some people do let race and stereotypes interfere in their relationships, but if u have an open mind then it doesn't matter who you date as long as you're really into each other.

kelly, i'm with you! being that i'm almost 30, i have nearly 2 decades of experience with dating and 3 with being an asian woman. i have dated a lot of men of all different races and ethnicities, including asian men. my worst dates and relationships have been with asian men. i am currently engaged to the love of my life, a white man. after years of dating jerks (finally over!), i couldn't be happier. many of my asian female friends and relatives are either married to or are in long-term relationships with white men, and after dating several asian men, they are also very happy.

in my experience, asian guys don't know how to treat people. i guess i can't really blame them, though. particularly in traditional chinese and korean families, the boys are given preferential treatment over their sisters. so many asian kids witness their fathers disrespecting their mothers. from birth, girls are expected to accept being treated like second-class citizens. when these boys grow up and start wanting relationships of their own, who do they look to as partners? they want someone who understands and will be subservient to them, someone who grew up in the same type of environment, which, of course, would be asian girls. i strongly believe this is why asian men are so against dating outside their race and are so angry with asian women who date outsider theirs.

the asian guys i've dated were insensitive, stubborn spoiled brats. even random asian guys i run into in public are jerks. in fact, the other day, a chinese man at the post office was totally rude to me. he accused me of cutting in line ahead of him, when, in fact, he tried to cut in line ahead of me! when i stood up for myself, he was taken aback. i guess he didn't expect that a young asian woman would actually be strong enough to do that! that was not the first time that's happened...

asian chicks aren't shallow or any shallower than your average white chick. i think the mumber one thing that the asian girls are sick and tired of is their husbands having mistresses. i know white guys aren't immune to that either, but it happens a lot more in asian countries and the woman gets nothing if she divorce's her husband and also she will have a hard time getting married again being a divorcee. as for white guys liking the asian girls more than white girls well for one thing the asian girls for whatever reason do seem to be in better shape their are some plump asian women, but most are slim to average nothing like some of the 300 pound white blobs you see walking around in north america. maybe a combination of their diet and moderate exercise is the reason. i was in brazil a few years ago for five months and my experience is they prefer white guys too. by the way i married a filipina and a lot of filipina's marrying white guys, but not the other way around. i tell you asian women treat their husbands very well who wouldn't want to marry one? they are usually more attractive than white chicks, treat their guys better and yes they do ask your permission for some things. so what white chick can match that? i mean my wife makes my lunch for me even and my coworker's the asian ones with asian wives say their wives do too, but the white guys with the white wives, not a chance, one poor fellow makes his wife lunch.
