hey everyone... very interesting topic! i'm half chinese/portugese/cuban, but i'm very connected to my asian-ness ;) however, i do find men of european decent ( i guess caucasians) to be more attractive. i personally think that it has a lot to do with the socialization that i've personally experienced while growing up between europe and north america. but, at the risk of stereotyping, i find asian people, not just men, to be rather androgynous looking and acting and for me, i like a masculine looking/acting man! not a macho man... but someone who's a bit rougher around the edges than i am.

moreover, from my previous trips to hong kong, i have found that there are very different ideals of "sexy" when it comes to men. in hong kong, a good provider, someone who's attentive to his girlfriend, seems like a good husband etc. are considered sexy... the pragmatic things. in north america, i think we need a little passion, though those are definitely great qualities in a man, for me, something i think i need a bit more than that. physical attraction in asia comes secondary.. and it may not be the sole priorirty for me, it is very important for me to find my boyfriend sexy as hell :d

all i can tell you from my expirience is that i've dated 3 white girls, 5 asian girls and 7 latinas in my life, and i have to say that asians are more submissive to me. they listen to what i say and do what i say, latin girls are as good, but the white girls are nobs. really, for example, i took all thre e types of girls to this restaurant, its not the best looking restaurant in town, but the food was delicious, the asian and latin girls really enjoyed eating dinner with me and the ambient didn't seem to bother them, but on three of the white girls, they wanted to leave, you could tell by their faces they didn't like the place.

today i visit this post i originally started. i am pleased to see so many different responses. its good to know that you have voices and opinions. just remember that while not everyone will agree with your thoughts and opinions, i respect them all. America is a no doubt a beautiful country and i hope that someday all the racist and racial profiles and stereotypes will be gone. but you know something, i hope it that doesn't end, because if you think about it, it will be boring, that would mean that we are all the same and i like it when we are all different because we learn from each other.

it is pretty easy to figure out why asian girls are so 'polite' & whatever else they convince you think they are. it's cuz they want you 2 marry them. wait 'til a few years after that happens & then see if you think they're so polite, subservient, agreeable & all the rest that you thought; er, let's add that you probably thought she would also be cheaper to live with & less demanding on the purse.

also, i'v known a lot of mixed married couples, the only ones that remained truly happy are where both parties are asian: same thinking, same values, same looks & kids (alien + alien = happy alien family). esp if kids come along latr. or, if the asian girl has married an old white man and only rarely if either party has at a latr stage of life after divorcing, tried out a relationship with an equally dissolusioned other but these ones are rare & they are both always old couple.

re. why there are hardly no asians in the fighting forces of western countries: my idea is that they don't fully accept the idea of defending this country cuz if they had 2 fight agaist their own race it would be painful & confusing. the family still has very strong & discriminant values, they are who they are & nothing changes that. they will never accept being the full identity of this country. ask any person of non-native background who speak their own languages -at- home. but the asians are especially discriminating.

oh hi people, this thread is very interesting indeed. it makes me sad to see how many people debate on whether asian girls are good looking or not, i mean guys! it's the same with white girls okay!. there are pretty ones and there are ugly ones. and it also depends on how we've been brought up too and we all have different perspectives about asian looks. i am asian, and yes i have small breasts and yes i am quite slim. but i am proud of who and what i am. yes okay white girls have the big boobs and all that stuff that hangs out, but atleast i dont have to worry about getting breast cancer.

you can't just label a whole race as unattractive or attractive. there are attractive asians as well as unattractive ones.

man, some of you guys are just stupid and ignorant.

all people have their own preferences and it's their tastes. some races have certain features that attract a person more than another race does. is it racism? to a point, yes. could it be wrong? maybe. but should you condemn it? no.

we have to respect one another. i don't think there's anyone who could say they like all men or women equally. they have preferences. psychological studies have proven that most people will choose a partner who has similar facial features. thus you don't get as much interracial relationships as you should see. and even in interracial relationships, you can find similar qualities that bring a couple together. as well as that, some people choose a partner because they want to break out of their own social groupings. sometimes race is categorized as a social group that a person wants to break free of. and sometimes, that's why you get interracial relationships.

the truth is, there are beautiful and ugly people in all races. i don't think looks should be the primary reason to choose someone to love, but i do think it should be a factor. if someone wants to find a person who is nice and loving. find one. if that person happens to be asian and they like asians. great!

in the end, we are what we love. our attractions, our preferences. we love that, and so we find someone who fits those categories that we love. it's selfish. but it's love. it's the only way we've known to love. because we're all a little selfish, whether it is good or bad.

i�ve always found asian women attractive at least since i was 13 years old. i don�t know why i did at that time because i grew up in a small southern farming community that was all white. i only saw asian women on tv and in magazines when growing up and knew absolutely nothing about their culture or how many people considered them to be obedient or as sex toys. my fondness for asian women were only based on their beauty, and beauty only. since the age of 13 ive learned many things about asian women that make me love them even more, and some things that even scare me a little, but none of what i learned was from the folk lore, urban legend or porn advertisements. i have actually been to china , thailand and even japan and experienced asian culture first hand. i love how much of a focus they have on family and treating others with kindness and respect. well, unless the �others� have done something like insult or hurt them. then look out because an angry asian woman can come down on you with more fire and brimstone hell furry than anything you have ever experienced. and they don�t forget or forgive quickly.

unfortunately when i was younger, i didn�t follow my heart, but what my friends and family told me to do. even though i had dated and was madly in love with a girl from south korea who i met in college, ended up being married to a caucasian women. after 10 years and 2 amazing children, she left me to date black men. im glad its over. the only good thing that came out of the whole marriage were my kids. my x wife never cared about family, she wanted to party and was totally infatuated with the hip hop life style and black men. from the time my kids were born, i was the one who would stay home with them and took them with me everywhere except my work. where my wife at that time didn�t want to take them anywhere as she preferred going to the dance clubs and partying all the time. don�t ask me how we ended up together, because she was not like that until after we were married. at least i never saw her like that.

you know i once read this article stating that humans have a natural biological tendency to mate or be attracted towards people who do not look like them or share their same features. it's basically evolution's way of ensuring that we don't inbreed too much. you know, darwinism...ever heard of it?

well anyways, the theory goes that by natural selection the stronger genes survive over time and that's how we adapt to our changing environments. so, maybe that explains not just the asian-caucasian phenomenon, but interracial relationships in general. the bigger of a gene pool we have, the better genes we'll get.

in essence, it's an uncontrollable biological urge that causes us to intermix. a white guy may see an asian girl and unconsciously see certain physical or mental traits in her that he wants his offspring to possess. maybe that explains why heterogenous people tend to be more attractive, smarter, athletic (at least i think so, and i'm full chinese myself).

in the end, we'll end up like that one south park episode where the people from the future go back in time and they're all one color. there's just too many "ists" in the world...racists, sexists, feminists, militarists.

i am mexican and peruvian and my girlfriend is asian. its true that asian girls going for other than white men is rare but not here in chicago. a lot of my girlfriends friends (who all happen to be asian) are married to latino men and even have children together. its weird, my girlfriend came to me i didn't make the first move.

gday, i am from australia, i am part asian/eastern european: our mum's russian & dad's japanese.
from what i know about my heritage both of my family sides are racist, especially my japanese side, and i know that from having lived there in japan. my brother and i were called names at school and our relatives thought we were alien. in russia, people have their own hang ups about race: it is not accepted if a girl marries into a non russian (white) family, in our case my mum had fleed to australia with our dad and my brother back in 70's. both of my parents speak russian, as they met at the university in siberia. anyhow, i consider myself an aussie, even though i am not a typical anglo-type. i consider myself to be lucky to have been born in australia to a loving family, even though we have only a few relatives here in aus.

i have expirienced racism- in mylife when i was a student, it did hurt to realise that my fellow students, countrymen had such low values and primitive views in life.

i think it is just selfesteem issues, ignorance(immaturity) and inexpirience in cultural diversity that lead to such views. in the end we are all the same simply because: we are human & we are here only for a short time. because in the end when we die, we will want to know that we have been loved, cared for and remembered for what we are. think about it, babies don't choose their playmates based on their skin colour, it all happens as we grow - and i know that those of your with prejudice outlooks in your lives will simply grow out of it at some point of your life.

i can bet all my monies that those of you who say i only like asian, white, latinos or blacks will find themselves attracted to someone else whos not black or whatever once in their life, if not then i'd advise you to seek some counselling re: your problem, as it will be pretty hard for your mind to play the game of who you like and who's who in the zoo when you will be left all alone, because you would always have to repress those feelings deep inside you, because te society won't tollerate such views - so your clocks are ticking away my freinds. change now, work on it, or else you will be a lonely,sad, psychiatricly unstable individuals. okay, enough is said.

about the physical prejudice, i think it is fair enough, they are your prefernces: so we can't change them, but when you say that all asians are small or flat or whatever and all latinos are sex machines, wake up to yourself, go and travel, explore and you will find out that there are many big, hunky guys in asia, that are hairy and rough enough around the ages, and many more adventurous, full bodied ladies. the same applies to any other country where you will unfortunately could not apply your steriotypes.

anyhow, i think you all will find yourselves changing one day, and when you do, look back and smile, because you had wasted all your precious time on that racial nonsence.
