Yawcam (PC)

today i am going to show you how to make your webcam into a surveillance camera. its very simple really.

i wanted to make a home monitor because i heard there are alot of people hanging around my property and they are writting grafiti all over my wall, so i want to have evidence to show the police who is the person doing this. so i have a webcam i can use.

all you need is software to make this happen. the software i am using is called Yawcam. i am going to be using a windows xp computer with a logitech 4000 webcam.

1. first make sure the camera is installed properly on your computer, including the drivers.

2. then you can install Yawcam from www.Yawcam.com

3. once you have installed both, go to the settings and look for your webcam.

there are alot of features, the best features i love about this:

* its free
* it has motion detection
* it has video streaming so you can watch it from any computer on the internet, plus, you can make it secure by changing the port number and enable user login.

these are my default settings i used:
