HERE IS THE ANSWER:
The other day I was making a banner for my friend's website. His banner required a special letter but i didnt have the special fonts he wanted. So i searched the web to see what i could find. I found this website, i don't remember the correct url, but it was someing like 1001fonts or something like that. Anyway, I download it and installed in my computer.

After that, my photoshop CS version 8 started to act weird. It was working fine before, but now it gets stucks at the splashing screen "Reading Text Global Resources... " every time I start photoshop. I included this picture of how it looks when it gets hang.

You see, when photoshop is initializing(starting), it loads your preference file located at:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\8.0\Adobe Photoshop CS Settings

the photoshop preference file is called: Adobe Photoshop CS Prefs.psp

HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM: Follow these steps:

1. Make sure your photoshop is not running. (or hanged) you can kill it with windows task manager by hitting control-alt-delete and select the task manager button.

2. find the file called "Adobe Photoshop CS Prefs.psp" in the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\8.0\Adobe Photoshop CS Settings\

* note: user will be whatever your are loged in as.

3. Delete this file or rename it to: Adobe Photoshop CS Prefs-old.psp (i just put "-old" at the end) - or whatver you want. The goal is so that photoshop doesnt use this .psp file again when it starts to load.

4. start photoshop, now it should load completely and it will prompt you to customize your color settings. You can click Yes or No.

5. Done

i can not find any of the files everybody is talking about.."new doc sizes.psp". its not in the "roaming" folder. what the heck is photoshop cs prefs.psp. where is that at?

Here are some thoughts. Look long and hard at the settings file issue. Is it possible that an administrative issue is preventing PS from actually deleting the settings file? Search for a folder named "Adobe Photoshop CS Settings" in your Docs and Settings folder and delete the files manually before starting CS. There appear to be a set of "generic" settings files as well - if those are corrupted that could cause a persistent failure. If you have not already removed, rebooted, and re-installed PS CS, do so, and in addition use regedit to delete the registry keys for Photoshop under HKL/Software. Use regedit's search facility to remove all keys referencing "Photoshop CS" or "Photoshop 8.0". You may have a bad font installed that causes PS to hang. Look for the most recently modified font file and start by moving it to another folder - if you're lucky that will do the trick. If not, I'd advise systematically checking for a bad font file. Try moving most of your fonts to another folder and rebooting. If CS starts, it's almost certainly a bad font. Add half your fonts, reboot, and try again, using a binary search strategy, to zero in on the defective font. If that doesn't do the trick, there is a developer utility called logger.exe available free from Microsoft. Logger will show the status of each and every system call, and will show you what PS was trying to do before hanging. Be sure to post back with your eventual solution so that others may Google for it

delete everything from that folder except the one folder dont worry they will go back after u restart adobe
