I agree with everyone! I preferred the original crew in SF and the show overall. I'm glad hulu is airing the older reruns instead of the new ones. I also learned a lot from Danielle and her hands on approach as well as Ian's style. David is great but as everyone has says, he's less hands on.

Love David, miss Danielle and Ian. New Color Splash does not have chemistry like the old Color Splash.

Danielle and Ian should host a show of their own. Viewers can send in design problems and watch them solve decorating challenges.
Tim Thu Apr 05, 2012
From everything I have found out both Ian and Danielle have families on the west coast and it is not as easy to uproot a family from an already established home. Yes I love Danielle and Ian and will try to follow their careers in the future and hope they both get picked up for other shows or even get their own. I have been watching the new episodes of Color Splash and believe that the new crew have potential. Hell when the show first started no one was sure Ian would even make it. Just keep an open mind.

Omg!!! I can't stand these new people on color splash ! Especially the younger girl. Use love David and crew in San Francisco. Don't care to watch it anymore.please someone return the show back to its original format.

You are so off-base. We all have families here in California, that is why we are not in Florida. Davids, or anyone for that matter, loveual preference isn't a factor in my decision making.

Is this danielle the danielle from the sf show? If so i'm a really big fan of you. I learned so much from you and you wonderful painting skills & knowledge. Are you still working with HGTV

AW, Ca'mon guys. You all know why Ian did not got to Florida with David. David is openly gay and I an is not. David has a boyfriend on the Florida version of colorsplash. Ian and Danielle could not bear the strss of the situation. On her Face book page, Danielle sys she didn't want to leave her business in California, plus, with David being gay, she probably got sick of his fake affection.

It's just not the same without Ian and Danielle. Those two women in Miami are really annoying. Especially Gina. I can't take one more episode with her in it. They just want to talk about themselves and that's not why we tune in.

I was shocked when Ian, Danielle and Clare were no longer on Color Splash. The chemistry between them was fantastic. I don't see it with the new people. Kind of boring!! Bring back Ian, Danielle and Clare!!!
Bess Sat Aug 27, 2011
After Ian and Danielle helped make you s star you dumped them. Your new crew leaves a lot to be desired and so does your show. Sorry you just lost another viewer. Your new crew will never be faithful to you they are too into themselves.
Maria Sat Aug 27, 2011
i agree....danielle y ian were great. i was just watching color splash tonight and there still seems to be no chemistry between David and the new crew. :(
Bekka Sat Aug 06, 2011
I don't care for the new show so much either. It lacks the personal dimension that it used to. I also miss Danielle and Ian. i keep hoping it will return to what it was, but that's just wishful thinking.

I loved Danielle and Ian. I still watch but I don't care for the new crew. David has been my favorite since I first watched design star. The Miami scene just doesn't do it for me. It seems way out of reality for me. I loved the old shows and the ideas there were more to my liking and how I could use them in my home. David is great and the only reason I now watch the show.
Maureen Sun Jul 24, 2011
Don't watch it anymore. Was sad when David moved and left Danielle and Ian behind. The new show is dull, and just not the same. I loved the old Color Splash! I thought it was a great show and looked forward to watching. Now, I just don't watch it.
DiAnna Sun Jul 17, 2011
My husband and I never miss Color Splash. We have been fans of David's since Design Star. His Miami show just doesn't do it for me though. The rooms on the new show just don't seem to be designed for the average person. I don't watch the program any more and say, Ican do that.
Gayla Sat Jul 16, 2011
I miss Danielle and Ian. Not really getting into the new crew

David is from Minnesota but attended the Ringling School for Art and Design in Florida after he graduated high school from MN, so that is why he calls it his 'hometown'.
I don't like the computer thing either, but this is a way that HGTV can control art. Legally, if he does things on the computer, and the computer is provided by HGTV, then it is intellectual property of HGTV first, and secondly David's.
I am a paper arts designer and have had to nix some relationships with some companies because they want me to put things on THEIR computer; hence I release some control of how this art is used.
David is awesome and we all go through changes... He is growing and sometimes these growing pains are hard for others to swallow. BTDT.. ;-)

I have watched David from the time he won the Design Star title. I enjoyed Danielle and Ian also, but when you move to a new location not everyone can move with you. People have differant design in every part of the world and it all comes down to our taste and likes and dislikes. I have'nt liked everything David has done, but he would be the first person I would invite to do a makeover in my home. Love you David. Keep making our homes more beautiful with Color Splash!

i love te old team, mabe HGTV should develope a show featuring ian and danielle showing their skills and techniques especially danielles paintng and ian magic with turning a pile of wood into beautiful frniture from just a designer sketch. i love david and have watched him since design star, and he has it deffinetly going on but the were a team, a really good team. i miss them

I was such a fan of the old show and always looked forward to new episodes. Danielle and Ian really came across as such genuine people (and talented people as well). My favorite part of the show was when Danielle would explain the paint technique that she was using. I also enjoyed Ian's humor and wit. The new crew members are not interesting and have no charisma or talent. In my opinion they seem like amateur stylists. My first thought when I saw the new show was that David moved to Miami because he didn't like being outshined by Danielle and Ian in California. But whatever the reason, it was not a good career move for David. In such a creative business, I would think you would always want to surround yourself with people more talented than yourself in order to be continue to learn and be challenged.

I hope to see Danielle and Ian with their own shows on HGTV in the future...

I truly love David and his desisns, but miss Danielle and Ian, the two girls on the show now are nothings as far as I am concerned. Have watched you David from the beginning and now I don't watch as much.
Sandi Mon May 16, 2011
I understand David wanting to live and work in Florida since he's from there but I believe it has hurt the show tremendously. I LOVED the first Color Splash and interation between David and the crew. It seems like his staff is doing the work, shopping etc., without much input from David and the new crew are as boring as watching dust. David, Danielle, and Ian made a great team and I learned from them. All the designs from the new show remind me of 1980's Miami. Sorry, lost me as a viewer.
Julie Thu May 12, 2011
I miss the old crew!!! Love David get talent! I enjoyed the chemistry they had the new show just doesn't have the same enjoyment and fun! Not fond of the new crew at all. Still love Davis tho! Would let him do my home anytime! No one else!
carol Tue May 10, 2011
I agree- I miss Danielle, Clare and I
an!

Have always thought that David was and is the best Design star to be discovered. But it was his interaction and relationship with Ian and Danielle that made his show. Do not like the new crew and the homes in Miami are not what regular middle and upper middle class have. Unable to get any inspiration from them. Sorry David, you have been my favorite, but not interested in the new format and crew.

Truly loved the Bay Area Color Splash and miss Ian and Danielle tremendously... the new girls and revolving painters make me question David's interpersonal skills!! HGTV!! Give Ian and Danielle a show!
lakeannakate Tue Mar 15, 2011
I understand that Miami is David's hometown but the sameness from one episode to the other is boring. I continue to miss the old location and the old crew. Now I don't care whether I see the show or not. If David prefers to stay in California I wish someone else would come up with a show using the talents of Danielle and Ian and the crest of that group.
Jan Mon Mar 14, 2011
I too miss Ian and Danielle. The new show is not "real" for real people. I use to get a lot of neat ideas from Danielle and Ian. David is great, but I miss the former crew.
P Thu Feb 24, 2011
The old show was more intresting, new places, new challenges every week. Miami is the same all the time. The chemistry isn't the same as with the old crew. I miss Danielle and Ian.
jill Sat Feb 19, 2011
I do not like the new Colorsplash Miami I miss Danielle and Ian. David is so talented but there is no chemistry with the new crew at all, I dont watch the show on a regular basis any longer!!
Amy Mon Feb 07, 2011
I was horrified when I first saw the Miami show. I haven't watch in long time and was finally catching up with the shows I recorded and it was devastating to see what happened to the show. I ALWAYS learned something for the first crew - who were all amazing. Danielle was the best along side with David. They were an amazing team. The new cast is painful to watch. What happened to David? He is talent, but the magic that he had before is gone. I will be removing this from my DVR. So sad... it was such an amazing show.
Tami Thu Feb 03, 2011
I agree with the majority of the commenters here...I LOVED the original show and crew. I think that the Miami show is too narrow in it's designs. It's always the same colors and decor...no challenges or deviation from the 'Miami' decor. The crew that HGTV has surrounded David with are talentless. David collaborated with the west coast crew...not so anymore. I'm not learning anything. I've watched the shows...here and there thinking that I might like it...but took it off my DVR list. Sorry David...had to ditch your new show...not geared for the masses...just a select, small demographic fits this show. Besides...David isn't getting the chance to show us what he's got...he's more talented than they are allowing him to show in this new pidgeon-holed show.
Dax Thu Feb 03, 2011
I agree, I prefer the old Color Splash. David's personal assistant is HOT, but the Miami show just is too wild for most people. I do like some of the designs ... but crazy trendy thinks quickly become dated.

But still, I live in SF and I understand why David wanted to go home. It's cold and gray here a lot. He didn't like it. It was his decision. Danielle and Ian both live here, they didn't want to move, they have careers of their own in the Bay Area ... that was their choice. HGTV made the decision for David to start using the computer instead of his drawings. I don't know why. The new team, I have to say, aren't my cup of tea.
Andrea Tue Feb 01, 2011
I totally agree, I miss Ian and Danielle.
Pat Fri Jan 28, 2011
The best group for David is daniell and ina. Please bring them back. There is no better show.
Sandy Sat Jan 22, 2011
I miss the old color spash! Being a decorative artist myself. Danielle had it all. This new guy doesn't measure up. Sorry David, still doing great things, but you need your old family to keep my interest!!!
