Which Is Most Reliable Cars To Buy? Find Best Worst Good Bad Auto Brands

The Japanese brands are still the ones that got the highest scores, proof that the imports are alway more reliable. Out of the 47 cars that were predicted, 39 are from japanese makers. The most are from Honda and Toyota.

Ford Fusion car the Mercury Milan scored pretty good in Consumer Reports' annual new car reliability survey, The best in the industry's quality standard-bearers, the Honda Accord V6 and Toyota Camry V6 got highest scores.

According to this survey, the American cars are improving, but then still have a long way to go to catch up with the Japanese Imports.

The "predicted reliability" rankings appear in the 2007 New Car Preview issue of Consumer Reports magazine.

General Motors and Ford got 6 in the list of the "Most Reliable", they are Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr, Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Pontiac Vibe. The Vibe which has similarities with the Toyota Matrix also scored big. Although bad new for DaimlerChrysler as they got none in the "Most Reliable" list.

5 of the "Least Reliable" imports were all from Nissan, the rest were 20 from Domestic models.

The difference between the "Most Reliable" and "Least Reliable" is striking, the magazine said, citing a comparison of the Toyota Highlander Hybrid and Mercedes-Benz M-class SUVs.

Consumer Reports said, Hybrid vehicles have shown particularly good reliability, although the Ford Escape dropped from "above average" to "average" predicted reliability for the 2007 model year. Other hybrid models, made by Toyota and Honda, have had excellent reliability.

The Mini Cooper was the only European car which made the Only "Most Reliable" list. Of the "Least Reliable" cars, 19 of the 45 are European models.

The owner of the M-class is likely to experience 10 times as many problems as the owner the Highlander Hybrid, the magazine said.

Overall reliability scores for the most recent three years are averaged for each model. If the model has been redesigned or was newly introduced within that time, predictions are based on available data.

Consumer Reports bases its reliability predictions in survey data from approximately 1.3 million vehicles owned by subscribers to its magazine and website.
