I recently had to replace my transmission on my 1996 300zx.

I found out that the 96 transmissions are different from the 1990-1995. After I installed the transmission, i got and DTC P0335 Error: Crank Shaft Position Sensor.

I turns out that the how where the sensor is bolted into the tranmission housing is doo deep, you have to file (grind) away some for the sensor to see the fylwheel teeths. It took me several hours to file away like 5 mm of aliminum, but after i filed away, i didn't get the error anymore.
