Stock tension rods will wear out over time even under normal driving condition. The upgraded tension rods has teflon PILLOWball joint that will reduce flex. This means tighter steering response and feedback.

these are some advantages and features:

so my 1996 nissan 300zx i had to replace mine cuz the stock ones where bad. everytime i steer left or right i would hear something pop.

here you can see on the left the original eom rods, while on the right are the new high performance, i bought these in ebay.

next, remove the two bolts under the suspension suppport, you have to use strong force to break them open, so if you have air powered tools, its better, but if you're like me who don't have power tools, i use a long breaker bar.

now remove the big bolt at the front of the rod. this sucker is pretty tight, so you will have to use strong force to break it open.

when you have it removed, measure it to match the eom rod to make sure you have the same distance and install the new tension rod. after you have installed both, make sure to take it to a shop for a wheel alignment.
