How To Disable Root Password In Linux

hay guys, im sort off new to unix. i need to get the root login stopped on a server. i dont want people to login as root. how can i disable the password. or if its even possible for the root pasword to be disabled? anyway, if disabling a password for root can be done, please show me how to do it
