I installed windows xp and windows server standard on one disk. Now everytime i boot my server, windows xp loads automatically. If i want load windows server 2003, I have to manually hit the arrow keys to select it, if I dont, it times out and it automatically select windows XP by default.
I want to change it so that windows 2003 boots up by default. Can you show me how to do this?
this is something like how my screen look when its booting up
Please select the operating system to start:
Windows Server 2003, Standard
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.
Press ENTER to choose.
For troubleshooting and advanced startup options for Windows, press F8.

To do what you want to do, you need to edit a file called boot.ini

its very easy,
in xp, right click my computer, click properties, click advanced, in the right side of "start up and recovery" click settings, on top default operating system change from xp to server 2003, click ok to finish, click ok again then restart the computer. now you will find server 2003 will boot automatically. thats all dear. you can also do it by editing boot.ini file in c drive but it is more complicated and if you are not aware of this file pls dont do any changes in this file.
