how do you do ipconfig in a linux computer

i just got a linux computer and im used to using windows computer now i want to check my ip and i remeber in windows i just send ipconfig command to look the information on my nic interfaces how do i do that in linux i want to be able to get the same information as i do with ipconfig in a unix or linux shell is that possible?
