How To Make Hidden Files Show Display In FTP Application Program

this blog is a tutorial to show you how to change your settings on your FTP client to show the hidden files on the remote server

Masking the display of files and folders

If your PC or an FTP site contains a large number of folders and files, you can limit the items displayed by using the File Mask text box (displayed as a blank box under the MkDir button). You can do this two ways: set it for a particular site, or set it "on the fly."

Setting the file mask for future connections to a particular site:

  1. From the Connection dialog, select the site in the Configured Sites list.

  2. Click the Advanced Properties button. (In the Explorer Interface, select the site and select Properties from the File menu.)

  3. Click the Startup tab.

  4. To limit the displayed files, enter characters and an asterisk in the Local file mask and/or Remote file mask text box. Examples: To display only text files, enter *.txt. To display only files whose names begin with the letter A, enter a*.

If you are connecting to a UNIX or LINUX server Use the Following:

 -al

or

-la

to view system files that begin with (.)  like .httaccess.
