dear barry,
congratulations! conggratulations!! congratulations!!!
carry on!!!! i am very proud of you.
barry, i am presently homeless. wwhere i am living, in the shelter i am living in, they will not allow us to see you tie the hank aaron record. i want to see it. we know you are no angel, but you are a great baseball player. i hope you will continue to play. my hopes and prayers are with you in you effort to acquire this outstanding accomplishment....to rewrite history.
in my opinion, this will be the greatest record in all of sports history.
in my opinion, baseball has been very slow in making a policy on anything, and like any big company, when the think something might be wrong, they blame the littlew guy, not the big shots.
in my opinion, baseball is very slow in making changes where changes should be made. one change that should be made is the change to instant replay as is used in all the other sports. baseball is very slow. today in this very hi-tec era, baseball prefers to stay behind the times and not come up to modern standards....and not use instant replay.
in my opinion, the umpire is not always right. in face, lou panella is sometimes right, and the umpire is wrong. why does baseball want to remain so slow? wh does baseball want to continue to say that the umpire is always right, when time and time again it has been proven that the umpire was wrong? even the supreme court could not do anything against am umpire who made a bad call and instant replay caught the error. why? and baseball simply goes on record as saying, "mistakes are part of the game." well if mistakes are part of the game, i give you the benefit of any doubt that there might be in any part of your performance.
in my opinion, if there is going to have to be an astrex put behind your upcoming record, then there should be an astrex put behind every pitcher and every player that came before you, because you all played under the same rule that "mistakes are part of the game."
in my opinion, in football and horse racing, and most of all the other major sports, mistakes are not part of the game. there is more accountability in all the other sports. umpires that make mistakes on their calls are weeded out. but nooooo! not in baseball. umpire mistakes are part of the game. there should be a realization of the fact that there is equipment available for the correct calls to be made. there are high tec cameras that can detect everything that is called in error. but baseball is very slow to change. baseball is saying, "if the rceipts are up, and the fans are happy, what me worry." therefore mistakes are part of the game. who knows if the mistrakes are not intentional? who knows if was a rogue call or not? who can do anything about it? not even the supreme ccourt!
baseball now is trying to blame you for something that baseball has been guilty of for many years....not maning up to modern standards. i doubt if there would not be two leagues if baseball had not looked at the enormous success football had with two leagues. and who started the playoffs? surely it was not baseball. no! it was football. but, football has manned-up! football does have instant repaly and all the other modern high-tec advances possible. any rogue umpire will be detected in football.
in my opinion there needs to be a new way of thinking in baseball.
in my opinion, baseball must come uo to parr with the rest of the sports world in this and many other facets.
i will not be ther when you break the record, barry, but my heart shall be with you. nothing worth doing has ever been easy. there are many nay-sayers out there who say you cheated. but, when roger maris beat babe ruth's record, who knows if he wasn't on steroids? when mcquire and sosa were going through their battle, who knows what thaey were taking to enhance their productivity? the fact is that steroids were not heavily enforced to illegal until you beat babe ruth's home run record and started driving to beat hank aaron's. now they are all bent out of shape . the only real reason they are bent out of shape is because they wanted someone of their own ethnic background to be the one to break this record. who knows if the calls the umpires are making are not suspect to whether this or that plaaaayer is of this or that ethnic background?
in my opinion, when you hit that homerun, you should be treated like the president of the united states.
in my opinion, there should be an investigation done on baseball to see just why it refuses to let the truth be called not by error prone umpire as opposed to the upgraded high-tech instant replay camera. the ability to get the call right is there, but the will power to over rule what might be a call made to satisfy the ethnic majority, just might keep the revenues at an all time high. the truth hurts.
but sunshine is the best disinfectant.
in my opinion, barry, god loves you and i know that i and willie mays are very proud of you!!!
carry on!
